Went there this past sunday, food was terrible, service was terrible, beer was flat and the knowledge of the staff was terrible, asked to recommend a nice red wine for my girlfriend which was horrible let alone over priced. Music was very dated and out of touch with the atmosphere. St. John's is still head and shoulders above this place JimminyCricket - 27 Aug 2013 14:12 |
Certainly a change for the better to how I remember this pub a few years ago. Like the church pews and numerous snug little nooks and corners. Only criticism is that it did take a bit too long to be served on the occasions we went to the bar and there is no drinks menu/prices displayed anywhere we could see. Other than these small criticisms, a great improvement and a welcome addition to the area's hostelries. muswellhillgirl - 13 Aug 2013 13:45 |
These reviews have been hijacked by staff, which is a real shame and totally ruins this site. Anyway, went in there on Saturday, beer was ok, not great, layout is fine, decor is half tasteful period style, half ikea shite. Going for dinner soon so we'll see how the food is but for now, they should be ashamed that they've been bumping up their own scores. shand83 - 26 Nov 2012 19:25 |

This pub ticks the right boxes. It's got a pleasant comfortable feel to it with quality food. The back garden is worth a visit for it's overhead awning making it dry and warm in the colder months. Clean, reasonably priced and great service off the table staff. Westendsocialite - 19 Nov 2011 23:28 |
