Very food orientated, with a large outside riverside seating area and a few cask ales. alexw - 3 Jun 2019 23:22 |
Stopping off during a walk. Absolutely packed, as you would expect on a summers day, but the staff did seem to be coping well. We just wanted a quick pint as refreshment. Not too outrageous £8 for a lager and lime and an old hooky. Old Hooky in poor condition - not clear and poorer than average. Great location. Definitely a restaurant and not a pub, but at least it sold some beer. simontheeditor - 9 Jan 2017 16:45 |
Approaching at 10pm, we were unable to appreciate the finer points of The Trout, but a convivial Australian barmaid and a well-kept pint of Cornish Trawler provided a warm welcome. Seeing a bar festooned in clingfilm seemed odd, but was done to keep the flies off, who were attendant in their droves. Light and bright and not really pubby at all, but nice to prop up the bar at what is predominantly a food-oriented establishment. Komakino - 14 Aug 2014 18:26 |
Superb location with huge riverside drinking and eating areas. The peacock strutting around is tremendous. Foodie but you are not made to feel unwelcome as a drinker. Poor choice of beer (Brakspear or Doom Bar-what about a local micro or two guys?) Interior is, well beige. curioushistory - 15 May 2014 16:02 |
