Lovely pub!! Good range of ales and nice food. Maisie_Miss - 2 Jun 2015 12:52 |
Modern, smart Ember Inns pub in the more affluent Cassiobury area of north-west Watford. The emphasis is on dining, but there was plenty of room for drinkers. There were 5 bitters on offer, and my pint of Tribute was drinkable without being outstanding. Given the dearth of decent pubs in Watford, you wouldn't mind if this was your local - albeit a rather characterless venue. Number11 - 29 Mar 2015 10:07 |
Ember Inns pubs always have a relatively decent selection of ale on, and such was the case when I visited, with five on and another two preparing. Of the five, all were between 3.6-4.1 ABV. Went for the Flagon Dry, from Woodforde, which was in good nick. There's 20p off a pint for Camra members, or all ales are £2.49 on a Monday. Food, while standard Ember Inns fare, is good and cheap. Staff very friendly. Shame it's so far from where I live, or would happily return on a regular basis. duchyjim - 15 Apr 2014 12:51 |
Liked ourr visit to this place. Food was very much what I was expecting but the portions were very good. On the plus side there was a great of beers and local ales. Service could have been a bit better but in their defence it was busy (Mo Farah was running in the final of the Olympic 5000 metre final) so I will forgive them. paulbeckett - 19 Aug 2012 19:50 |
Only pub near Cassiobury and is a gem. Run by Ember Inns so don't expect old fasioned. Seems to do lots of guests, last checked it did Ebu, Timothy Taylor, Pedigree and a local ale. Always seem to be kept well. I like the new menu too. Less pub grub, more gastro. Breadcrumbed Brie was excellent in particular. My suggestion - go to POB for dinner, then go to Ember for drinks and dessert. busker999 - 6 Jun 2012 19:41 |
