Trying to be Bavarian, but not really succeeding in this location under a railway arch. Perhaps it's better when full and oompah noisy. The staff try hard. Had a really nice pint of Erdinger Hefe Weissbier in one of those very tall glasses; great but at an overall cost of more than six pounds you're unlikely to stick around for more. The "optional" 12.5% service charge on the bill is excessive in any restaurant . I liked the food, but I only tasted it as far as wurst and sauerkraut and a roll-sized pretzel. A bit of fun and worth a try, but it ain't the Munich Beer Festival! Mona_Growser - 17 May 2015 17:08 |
The review by Cristin is a plant btw. If a place needs such 'plants' they're worth avoiding. dpaajones - 6 Nov 2011 19:33 |
I went to the Bavarian Beerhouse on a saturday . We were a large group, celebrating a friend's birthday - I expected a lot of beer at a BEERhouse...and I was not disappointed! The menu offers a selection of German beers, all fresh from the tap, ice cold and in huge Stein glasses. Our waitress carried 8 of them to the table which was very impressive - and she was smiling while doing so!! The service was very quick and the beer is soooo good!! The food was quite good as well - I tried a sausage platter which was basically a selection of german sausages, mashed potato and sauerkraut. All in all we had a very great evening, all my friends were dancing along to the oompah pah music and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It's a great place for a night out with your friends ( probably nothing I'd chose for a romantic dinner) and I will definitely come back!!! Cristin - 24 Sep 2011 14:07 |
Really, really awful. Surroundings basic and every surface seems to be sticky to the touch. German beers are fine but nothing outstanding. Food was some of the worst I've had in London, and that's saying something. Avoid like the plague. Calthrop - 24 Mar 2011 10:50 |
