Good old fashioned back street boozer, and I go there at least three times a week, and for me to do that it must be OK!! (otherwise I wouldn't go there). Friendly bar staff, and if I fancy a quick pint after work, I always head here. PLUS, they still serve Light & Bitter, which you can hardly get anywhere else. They have a darts team and a pool team as well. yid1965 - 19 Apr 2013 16:01 |
Old-fashioned basic back-street pub hidden away near St John's roundabout. There used to be lots of places like this in every town but there are not many left. Not where you'd go for a sophisticated evening out, but friendly enough and has drinkable beer (West Berks Mr Chubb's on my recent visit). newbury_drinker - 8 Oct 2011 22:18 |
Hard to find back street boozer (go down the small side road by the Wellington Arms) which tends to close afternoons/early evenings. Strong following of regulars. Beer's OK. Dan137 - 13 Nov 2010 22:44 |
