Has undergone a refurbishment since I lived in the area and has lost some of the character it did have. Not a bad local boozer though and a good mix of characters. Hardcore and cliquey quiz night with some very determined players who don't seem to appreciate cocky strangers challenging their authority. RichRichMan - 17 Jan 2011 12:02 |
Refurbished Youngs' Pub on the New Kings Road, heavily food-orientated and quiet on a Tuesday afternoon when I dropped in. London Gold in good nick but expensive at 3.30. The decor in here is standard Young's modernisation; High tables & chairs, modern sofas 'n' benches and cream outdoor furniture. I left without it forming a lasting impression and perhaps this is due to its close proximity to the White Horse, which for my money is the best pub in London and outshines this place completely in terms of beer. Great pub, have been here a many time and enjoy it always. The clientele are a good mix and have no prob with them. Food are mostly good. The desert chocolate is fantastic. Good range of beers also. Gmaine - 11 Nov 2009 23:21 |
A smart pub, in a posh area - therefore a bit pretentious, but lovely surroundings to enjoy a beer. ed_hodge - 23 Jul 2009 19:37 |
