Dark almost dingy locals' pub which looks like it hasn't been decorated for a good many years. Only handpull is the on site brewed Arrow Bitter which was distinctly average but at least it was cheap enough. Welcome was friendly but there are better pubs in Kington. Still, I'm glad to have tried it. paul_d102 - 15 Sep 2016 22:34 |
Small pub with a small outdoor drinking area to side and rear (not really a "garden" but has tables). Brews own beer ("Arrow bitter") which was the only real ale they served when I popped in. All-in-all, it's an okay pub, but unless others nearby are closed then I wouldn't bother. dpaajones - 16 Nov 2013 14:44 |
Cosy and traditional local on Kington's main street. There's only 2 or 3 tables in here. There's just as many in the small yard at the rear. But the clientele (mainly locals) were all fairly friendly and the place was fairly busy compared with other pubs we tried in Kington. The pub's own real ale - Arrow Bitter is sold. I was also extremely surprised to see draught Woodpecker cider. I believe this is the first time I have seen this since visiting the Victoria Inn in Alfreton a few years back. I'd hate to think how crowded this pub could get on a Friday or Saturday night. But I was relatively impressed. Parking is a little difficult however. blue_scrumpy - 15 Apr 2010 22:52 |
