I agree with the previous review. This is a proper village boozer with three small rooms and a decent selection of ales. Parking is just opposite the road, overlooking rolling fields. The pub has no music or other electronics. It specialises in conversation. Locals and staff are friendly. The ale selection was Yard of Ale Savage Wit, Brentwood Gold, Maxim Samson, Rudgate Valkyrie APA & Mithril Walking On Sunshine. I went for the Savage Wit, which was a dark wheat bear with orange. It was not the best and tasted on the turn. Can't fault the pub itself though. blue_scrumpy - 17 Sep 2018 19:05 |
This is a pub as pubs were meant to be. Great atmosphere, even better beer, and the most friendly welcome you could want, Its not a GASTRO pub or a pub that thinks its a restaurant and charges silly prices, its a PROPER pub for people who want a drink and a chat and maybe some food and want to have a relaxing time enjoying themselves, Its a real pub. Absolutely brilliant local pub in this small hamlet. Very friendly owners, ate here five times in a week including with friends, and we didn't have a bad meal between us. Good pricing, everything nicely done as a wide range of decent pub food. Excellent choice of beers, too. Decor is typical pub style and it's not big, so book in advance. But we'd go back there without hesitation. featherways - 10 Jun 2012 19:21 |
