Deserves to be a lot busier than it was when the wife and I visited. Not a huge range of beer, but well-kept. The food is excellent both in quality and value. It would be a crying shame of lack of business forced it to follow so many other village pubs. They appear to be trying to organise events - ladies' and men's lunch days, theme nights, car boot sales etc - and hopefully these are supported by the local community. Gerremin - 4 Apr 2014 12:00 |
The bridge has recently reopened with new tenants and had been damaged in winter floods. The are 3 handpumps. One with Theakston Bitter, one with a beer from Mithrill and a guest (which was Brains Bread of Heaven). There is a pleasant wood panelled bar with an open log fire and a separate dining room. The pub is open all day for coffee and food. Bar opens at noon. Walkers are welcome (we had taken off our muddy boots after a walk along the teesdale way). Seems to have changed from the previous comment. Rocky53 - 7 Feb 2013 10:08 |
A nice pleasant place for a beer in an otherwise food type of establishment. darloexile - 25 May 2010 12:58 |
