| I have to say I think the previous review was a little harsh, however I wasn't there that day. True, the decor maybe past it's best, but I think this adds to the character and charm of the 'olde' world feel of the place. It's nice to get away from the plastic, themed chain pubs, and places like this are sadly a dying breed. The two girls behind the bar were friendly and helpful. I can't comment on the beer as I was driving and had a soft drink, but the food was perfectly acceptable and reasonably priced. | Possibly one of the worst pubs I've ever been to. The beer is served ice cold - not good for bitter! - the service is at best grumpy, the surroundings dingy and in desperate need of updating. Then there's the food....... When I say that we spoke about this as the "pig swill pub" the quality of the home made food can be guessed at. | Cosy & friendly roadside pub in quiet location. To reach the pub from the car park involves crossing a small foootbridge over the river that forms a border of the large beer garden.
