This pub is located towards the bottom end of Totnes and can be accessed by a long, long alley from the main Fore Street. Once inside, it is the type of pub that you will experience many characters, and the type of characters that will and only frequent the one pub. It is the cheapest pub in town and therefore and the landlord admits 'it's a drinkers pub'....There are no gimmicks, no adverts, an excellent jukebox and always a good tasting fresh ale or two. It is a freehouse also. The service is great, usually by the landlord himself. It's a great pub for a pint or two....comfortable, small, clean and friendly sefpacific - 20 Feb 2016 16:48 |
Recently refurbished with a real log fire and superb jukebox, this welcoming local has Dartmoor Jail Ale and Hunter's Best served direct from cask, and at least one guest ale on handpump. An excellent and unusual selection of spirits complements the imaginative range, and even the keg products on offer - Dortmund lager, for example - add a touch of distinction. Highly recommended. loftmagus57 - 2 Apr 2014 08:37 |
This is a friendly little local down the back streets of totnes. We stumbled across this place by following a sign down an alley. A handful of locals at the bar on a saturday afternoon. We sat in the corner and played a game of draughts (i think we must have had a few!) Would visit again if in the area 8/10 montie49 - 1 Aug 2011 18:44 |
This is a great little local, with a fine selection of real ales. I kept going back. Very friendly manager and staff. It has a real fire and has many regulars. If you don't like a lively pub in the evenings with great conversation, music and a good mix of young and old, then this pub is not for you. But for me it was my favourite pub for local atmosphere. I drank, Otter ale and Doombar both very tasty ales. on my second visit, the bar team even remembered what I was drinking , making me feel very relaxed and just like one of their regulars. extremly warm welcome from the friendly staff . gibbi - 15 Nov 2010 19:50 |
