Visited again yesterday after a gap of about a year, this busy place now has a couple of screens for live football etc, but is otherwise pretty much the same as my original comment. Gristy - 12 Dec 2011 14:14 |
Early evening visit, so had the place to myself. Sat outside with a hancocks. Liked the signs about the smoking area outside... available to 12:30am, then if people really want a fag they have to inhale very quietly indeed as it is a residential area. Alcohol will be served at the management's discretion after this time. Indicates a bit of a lively place to me. Alton is a very pretty little place. Mappiman - 14 Apr 2011 13:50 |
Generally the most frequented of the several in the village. Always fairly lively and can get rammed at weekends in season. Usually decent range of beers, albeit from the Greene King stable, but usually with one independent local such as Wincle. Does a good menu and has rooms to saty in as well. Good atmosphere on those busy nights, people always ready to talk to anyone. Gristy - 15 Jun 2010 12:12 |
