As a fan of Six Bells beers I had no problem at all this weekend with just being offered a gorgeous pint of Cloud Nine. Unless you can shift the volume I'd rather a pub offers a limited range of beers but keeps them well, as they have done every time I've been in the Wharf. They also had Westons Old Rosie cider on offer. I can also recommend the huge thick gammon and double egg, their portions are certainly on the generous side! bike2beer - 8 May 2012 12:32 |
Isolated canalside pub at the foot of Shebdon embankment on the Shropshire Union Canal. Large L-shaped bar that was once many small rooms. 1970s style decor and furniture. Only one cask beer - Six Bells Brewery from Bishops Castle on my visit and a cask cider (Westons). Straighforward range of microwaved pub food although delays to service can be severe (up to 2 hours at busy times!) Plan ahead and get here early if eating. Winter opening hours are limited to Tuesday to saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtime. dorothygoodbody - 21 Nov 2011 21:09 |
