A gastropub in Willesden - well no one was eating and it didn't feel much like a pub. Probably the best ale in Willesden (two were on Youngs banana bread beer and Batemans XXXB) but not particuallrly nice - the banana bread tasted like a keg bitter. You are routinely given your change on a little plate with the staff expecting you to leave a tip - for that bit of American style (introduced via Eastern Europe) crap alone this place deserves a nought. Relaxed atmosphere ? This is Willesden fer fecks sake... it's just a bit less edgy than the other establishments. anonymous - 25 Mar 2011 00:18 |
Ive been here quite a few times but never regularly to be honest. It is a very nice pub and has a great outside section. Inside there is a restaurant and a drinking section. Unfortunately every time Ive been there Ive never enjoyed the lager that Ive ordered. The taste is just flat and Im talking about a a range of beers, not just one. I guess the landlord never drinks the stuff which is a shame for punters imo. Improve the beer please! Merengue - 26 Aug 2010 16:59 |
I used to go here when it was the Green but then stopped as it became rundown.. Have started going back again now its the queensbury. Had a lovely sunday lunch there a couple of weeks ago. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff and friendly and welcoming. Have also been on saturday evening in the pub bit which is also relaxed - a nice frindly crowd of people. The decor is nice as well. Now that the summer is here its nice to sit outside as they have a large front area with lots of seating (and heating/blankets when its cold). Dedfo worth a try. yveeee - 20 Apr 2010 14:12 |
