This place should have stayed a pub. I never post things like this but I felt a warning should be issued to any potential unfortunates who may be lured in by the Linton's antique look. As we were. As a pub it may be ideal, but as a restaurant it lacks in every single area. The service is terrible - the waitress actually argued with me when my lunch never arrived, telling me with no apologies that I didn't order it. Odd, as I'm sure that's why I went there. My companions received soup and bread with no cutlery which they said tasted tinned - for 4.25 a bowl. A mixed cold shared plate came again with no cutlery, side plates or napkins. Only one main was ordered, haddock and chips - unbelievably for the third time we needed to ask for cutlery to eat it with. It was frozen chips, tiny fish and wilted salad. Only 10.25. Although the food was disappointing and highly overpriced, it was the service that really let the place down. I think in the end I was lucky the waitress forgot my order. Do yourself a favour and drive past. Dire. bigyin - 3 Jan 2011 10:57 |
