| On my first ever visit to Shepshed, the Horse was my first port of call on a Sunday lunchtime. You enter from the car park into the public bar. A second room is a dining room, where Sunday roasts were being served. Most people seemed to be having a drink in the bar, before being called to their table in the next room. Along with about 5 other people, I remained in the bar, where live football was being shown. Greene King Abbot is the regular ale. Guests were Bass, Leather Britches Santa's Little Helper & Nobby's Hoppy Snowman. Nice enough pub. But I preferred the Black Swan in Shepshed. For a real step back in time, you should also search out the Richmond Arms. The landlady is celebrating her 50th year there.
