This pub has been closed for months, it's all boarded up and empty. mcr - 20 Sep 2015 12:05 |
What a change .....the manager has gone on sick leave, and a relief manager, Marcus, has taken over. Cant believe whats happening, the placed has been really cleaned up. It was previously filthy, as could be seen from the filth on the cloths used to clean the shelves alone. The beers now taste better than ever, the pipes have been cleaned. The Banks beer actually tastes like fresh beer Lets hope the old landlord never returns. Watch this space. imnodope - 3 Apr 2012 17:00 |
Quiet which I actually prefer. The pool table is good despite some of the players taking the game a bit too seriously. The regulars like watching terrestial tv during the afternoon which I found odd. Foolsp - 23 Jul 2011 11:31 |
Agreed Foodman...popped in here earlier today only to find it sparsely populated and with less atmosphere than the moon. Girl behind the bar was friendly and welcoming and looked almost disappointed when i left, she was probably hoping i may make for a busy afternoon. bluedocs123 - 25 Jun 2011 13:45 |
I don't know if Mitchell & Butlers still own this pub but whoever does should hang their head in shame. This place could be a goldmine! With hundreds of new houses being built and occupied right on it's doorstep, a local pub like this should be offering a lot more than The Blue Lion is. It's tired, dirty and neglected by whoever owns it. Although there are hand pumps on the bar I haven't seen them in use for at least 5 years. Basically this place just needs a proper clean-up and lick of paint and enthusiastic management and it could be a lovely little pub. Everything is there;- a nice outside seating area, car park at the rear. Minimal investment would sort this place out and I'm sure it could make money. So frustrating to see it in it's current state. foodman - 31 May 2011 21:22 |
