| Did a massive walk in the area and stopped off here for a ploughmans lunch washed down with a couple of ales. What a great little place, very cosy with a lovely fire. It's like going back in time to a much quieter era. I did here a rumour that the pub is now shut i really hope this is not true as it would be such a terrible shame. 10/10 montie49 - 13 Dec 2011 09:34 |
| was recommended to us by our b&b hosts, terrific drive down dark country lanes to a place that feels properly middle of nowhere. Once inside, friendly service, good ale and food and plenty of cosy alcoves, would love to get back sometime without a car and settle in for the evening, well worth making the effort to find. i'd also recommend the place we stayed, Sannacott farm near South Molton i think. virginiaplain - 16 Jun 2010 11:31 |
| Lovely pub next to the church, it rambles through 4 rooms and a restaurant area the entrance has door matting as its flooring and rods to invert welly boots on to dry, together with dog bowls. The next room has tables and stools and the bar with real ales served by gravity. another family room has old sewing machines on display. We didnt sample the food but it is apparently good and locally sourced. Only down side is that they close in the afternoon. The pub is dog friendly and has accomodation. dandj - 17 Apr 2010 08:58 |
