Excellent food when I visited a week or so ago. Staff seemed friendly. TVs showing the football which kept people suitably entertained. Didn't get to try and beers but only 1 ale seemed to be on and I think it was Doom Bar. Went on a Saturday evening and it was noisy with the footie crowd watching the TVs but it seemed quieter in the dining room which was nice. Only problem here is the constant flow of people coming through the dining room to go out to the smoking garden. Later in the evening the music is turned up and it gets a lot busier and noisier. spent a weekend in hamble and a lot of time in this pub, good food, the rib eye steak meal is top notch, realy good burgers and home made chips, and the sunday roast is all made with fresh veg, large screen tv, clean and tidy toilets but the purple urinals is a big talking point but should never be replaced, evening entertainment is good, duo one nite who invited people with a half decent voive to jion them, and the worst karoke host in the world on sunday night, but you had a good laugh, all in all a good pub. borojohn - 15 Oct 2011 11:25 |
The only pub at this end of Hamble. The best Sunday roasts around and decent beer. Temperence - 17 Mar 2010 20:43 |
