Sister pub to The Star in Beeston with similar decor and real ale selection. Relaxing vibe, clean, well kept with good choice of real ale craft beers. A real find in Stabbo and beats most other locals for miles around hands down. Muzzy - 29 Sep 2016 15:53 |
Great pub and I stayed there last week end. Basic rooms with shared washing facilitys but at £25 a night you can't complain. The local ale "Full Mash" is still available @ £2.50 a pint with 10p off for CAMRA members. Very nice it is too. bjbrummiejohn - 28 Apr 2015 16:09 |
Pub re-opened as real ale venue Oct 2012 so please disregard any revews before this date! first class pub with no TV, no Juke Box, no slot machines. Ten hand-pumps generally at least half of them LocAle - including an exclusive "Horse and Jockey" session ale from Full Mash at a very agreeable £2.50/pint before your 10p Camra discount. CANRA national finalist in 2013 and already won Nottingham PotY for 2014. Themed mini beer-festival at least once a month dwarfer - 13 Jun 2014 20:05 |
I visited early Saturday evening after it had won the East Midlands pub of the year. Doing a roaring trade with a great range of beers to choose from. Deservedly popular with a wide range of customers. But would I put it number one on my list of pubs in the East Midlands? No I would not. It is very good and a great example of what can be achieved to make a community pub really work, but it still lacks a kind of homeliness for me. Well worth a visit if you're around those parts, but there is little else in the vicinity to make a night of it. twohalves - 5 Dec 2013 17:58 |
Great pub, with a fine selection of real ales. The only decent pub in the area, well worth a bus trip from Nottingham. Fulhampete - 1 Oct 2013 11:10 |
