Still no real ale and medicore lager is massively overpriced. Also the place is filthy, I played a gig recently and stuck to the floor in the dressing room (which doubled up as a kitchen and I also stuck to the stage!!! SGA - 24 May 2014 21:36 |
Really more of a music club than a pub, no real ale (uniquely around Moseley Village) and the Krusovice lager was GBP4.50 a pint (ouch). Run by the same people as the excellent Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath but not at the same level in my view. No real ale situation is because they don't have room for barrels down below. rainlight - 12 May 2014 07:14 |
It's not the same since the Irish chap (Mick, is it?) has left... Nice fellow, and a good barman, always had time for a chat.. Good beer, but maybe they just want to attract people who come specifically for music events, rather than passing drinkers.. Never seen much trouble there though, would much rather pay the extra 20-30p and drink in comfort, away from The Junction and Wetherspoons...... superflypanther - 28 May 2012 13:28 |
Interesting building externally, right in the middle of Moseley. Seems to only open in the evening: certainly looked closed at lunchtime on a sunday (though cleaning staff were visible through the windows). Posters advertising musical performances suggests this is more of a music club than a pub in the conventional sense, but, given proximity of decent pubs in the immediate vicinity (Elizabeth of York, Fighting Cocks, Prince of Wales), nobody need feel deprived. Top Notch... Great Staff and little club bit upstairs at the weekend. New food is great. Week night or weekend this place has atmosphere and attracts the real people of Moseley not the pouting wannabee's and look at me I'm so boho chic toss pots of the fighting cocks ... The manager is a top chap. happyhead - 16 Dec 2009 19:18 |
