| Narrow GK boozer on Aylesbury’s cobbled market square offering a limited ale range of GK IPA and Sharps Doom Bar; the latter was on the OK-ish side, chiming in at £3.65 and the range was limited to just this what with the IPA’s clip turned barwards. The shtick here is live music, much espoused by the notices dotted around the interior and exterior, but on a quiet Monday night, the jukebox was in good flow with songs from The Smiths, Blondie and The Kinks making an appearance and the crowd very much veered on the ‘studenty’ side. The pub has a tenuous claim to fame inasmuch as it is located next door to where comic actor Ronnie Barker made his theatre debut (the building now no longer stands). Komakino - 8 Apr 2014 13:36 |
| A complete change to the Chav pub that occupied this site a few years. Has had a makeover, I would say it's 'female friendly', dim lighting, candles, nice decor, comfy sofas etc. A place to bring your girlfriend. Had an acoustic session upstairs with the music piped downstairs. Beer in the Greene king range but wasn't bad. A cut above the pubs in this area. Abteilung - 22 Aug 2010 23:22 |
| Such a nice small pub in central Aylesbury. The landlady and her barstaff are very friendly. They have regular live music and a restaurant. Certainly one of the better pubs in town. rjb1973 - 8 May 2010 10:36 |
