Unfortunately pub closed when visited this week. Don't know if this is permanent, but Bed & Breakfast still available run by same lady. spikefromsurrey - 19 Feb 2012 22:16 |
Again in Talgarth for son to go kayaking. Place hasn't changed a bit, since my last post, but I heard on the grapevine the landlady may be retiring in October. Check out this slice of recent history before it's too late! spikefromsurrey - 24 Feb 2011 17:24 |
Myself and my boyfriend eat at the bell at least every couple of months (usually sunday dinner), and the pub has a lovely welcoming atmosphere, the kind of pub that is unfortunately dying out across England and Wales. Well worth a visit for sunday dinners like mum used to make! StarryEyed1982 - 26 Mar 2010 20:58 |
A quiet local near the centre of this village in the Brecon Beacons. Run by the same licensee for 40 odd years, walking through the door is like entering a timewarp to a 70's local. There is pleasant lounge bar, and seperate public bar where there is a pool table. Food of the traditional 'scampi and chips' variety is cooked to order and generously proportioned. Hancocks HB is available on hand pump and in top condition. Also has rooms and a self catering apartment though I did not try these. Well worth a visit if you are in the area before it changes. spikefromsurrey - 23 Feb 2010 21:39 |
