| I do like this pub. Stayed twice in early/mid 2012 and enjoyed it. Close to Cheddar etc. Cider is great as were the beers. Locals very friendly and one even asked me to keep an eye on his shotgun whilst he went for a pee. No, honestly. Great pub and welcomes dogs too. Tancred - 2 Jan 2013 12:46 |
| Have been here a few times, and on my last visit I had the memsahib with me, and as we were a bit peckish we had a snackette. Potholer and Butcombe on, as were the aforementioned ciders. Butcombe was in the process of being changed, so I had Potholer. The first pint was like Irrawady river mud, but was cheerfully replaced, and the next was fine. | Attractive, prominent pub in the centre of the village. At one time it was a row of three cottages but now they've been knocked in to one and made a decent sized pub. Interior is on the whole quite modern, and not what you'd call cosy, but it was pleasant enough and had a real fire. There's a good menu, and the food we had was decent, although perhaps a bit more resturant like than one should expect in a pub. Staff were friendly and chatty.
