A great example of a friendly village pub. I visited on a Sunday lunch time which was busy, but the welcoming staff did a great job of keeping everyone happy. Nice range of well kept ales (Fullers, Timothy Taylor). Good food - not fussy or poncy, but a cut above normal pub fayre. Home made, rather than out of a packet. Separate dining room, so still very much a pub rather than a gastro-establishment. JonRambo - 24 May 2010 12:51 |
Super village pub we visited on the way to the Yorkshire Air Museum. Of particular note is the sense of attention to detail - the excellent sandwiches, the beer, the service from the attentive waiting staff, even the choice of soap in the gents. If only most pubs were this good. The unspolit character of the lounge and bar can then be enjoyed and almost taken for granted! Highly recommended cfowler - 27 Dec 2009 08:23 |
Lovely village setting, decent food and excellent beer - had a stunning pint of Timothy Taylor's 'Landlord' on last visit. An added bonus for anyone visiting during the winter is the coal fire in the main lounge. Very much a 'locals' pub, but worth a trip for the beer alone. Simon Ward - 11 Aug 2003 15:27 |
