Essentially a restaurant with a bar selling four cask ales. You'll not be welcome if you're not going to have a meal. Good quality food and beer but expect to pay high restaurant prices for it. Unfortunately there is no other proper pub in the village. Very popular, with plenty of car trade though. The huge car park is always quite full even mid week. GeofB - 31 Oct 2014 08:38 |
Popped in here completely at random for lunch on the way up to Doncaster. Excellent food and very friendly staff. GaryB007 - 29 Mar 2014 14:16 |
This place is a little gem tucked away just off the M1 junc 29. Sunday luch and bar/evening meals are top class. You always have to book in advance. They have traditianal ales on offer. The service from the staff is excellent, you are made to feel very welcome here. On a summers day/evening sit outside and enjoy the lovely views across the open countryside. All I can say is this is a lovely pub in a beautiful village. Lyndi - 26 Sep 2010 16:41 |
Very nice pub close to the M1. Very busy by 12:15 on a Sunday, with good food (only had a sandwich but the roasts looked good), and beers from the Marston's range including the excellent Jennings Sneck Lifter which was in very good condition. Lovely view from the garden across to Bolsover Castle. metrology_man - 24 Aug 2009 08:35 |
