A friendly, welcoming pub. Though the locals seem daunting upon first sight, given a chance you will soon come to realise this pub has much to offer; A heated smoking area, pool tables, a fruit machine, and excellent staff who are always ready to meet the customers needs. The term 'doubling up as a bookies' is exaggerated although this would show the close links the landlord has with the local community. The Round Green is always very clean and efficiently run. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area. whit13 - 6 Jan 2010 15:02 |
This pub is OK - clean enough and the people in there are non threatening. Only been there 2 or 3 times since there is nothing to make me want to go back. The Topers is just a little bit nicer and they do food. awehla - 23 Sep 2009 12:50 |
Not bad, but nothing special. A couple of beers available. adamcroft - 30 Jun 2009 10:15 |
Great local's pub... which is great if you're one of the locals. Otherwise, and although I've never found it at all threatening, people look at you wondering what the hell you're doing there; which isn't a bad question. Incredibly smoky pub, which seems to double (indeed at times it seems its primary function) as a bookies. Has far more character than The J.Topers... but sometimes - like Scooby Doo post Scrappy - alot of character can get a little much. Dean_Pritchard - 25 Aug 2006 09:53 |
The second best pub of three on Round Green. The owners moved up from The Gardeners Call a few years back and I don't think have maintained the atmosphere although the barstaff still remain very friendly. The IPA wasn't the best I had tasted and the Beer Garden could do with a few more flowers. It is very bland and not very comfortable. Visited 09:45 09/08/03 Doofer - 10 Aug 2003 17:48 |
