Great location right on the river. Lovely place to sit and have a drink with a few friends. A few nice beers on tap. Food is on the pricier side, but good quality I thought. Better in the summer when they have all the doors open upstairs. Ryn - 7 Apr 2010 17:27 |
Superb location especially in summer outside on the decking or by a window watching boats/ducks go back and forth but also rather fun on a dark rainy night as well. I can't think of a finer view around these parts. Lots of seating but no-one's really there for a big session; it's more for chatting over a couple with friends or taking some food which, by the way, is very pleasant. There is table service but if it's beers you're after you're far better going to the bar yourself otherwise a wait of ten minutes is not uncommon. Beers: found the Tribute disappointing and have since gone for the super cold German lager which has a great kick to it. The comment on parking is worth bearing in mind but as the car park is all of three minutes walk away and pretty cheap it's not really a problem. There is an hourly bus to/from Maidenhead Town centre if you fancy taking the risk, otherwise only a couple of miles. stevosgloriosus - 28 Oct 2009 23:23 |
Are there 2 places on this Island or what? I went to Boulters Restaurant and Bar which I presume is the same place; I had probably one of the best meals of my life in the restaurnt; so good that I went back to the bar on the Sunday as they had a live saxophone player who is a regular I was told. The Tribute was very well kept, the burger was Awesome and the view is out of this world. For a place to chill out and watch the world go by it can't be bettered in my opinion. Food was great, staff friendly and well drilled. 12.95 for a 2 course lunch is great value. OK not alot of parking but to sit in a pub literally in the middle of the river is worth the very pleasant 2 minute walk if there are no spots outside. Well done to the new owners! aussiedancer - 11 Sep 2009 12:14 |
Very disappointed with the Boulters Inn. Lovely setting but the food was over processed and dull and expensive. Staff would benefit from some more training. Great location for a drink but in my opinion not for food. Pickle_girl - 21 Aug 2009 16:58 |
I have eaten in the downstairs restauant and lovely setting but the food was pricey disappointing selection and more importantly cold. The veg and potaoes were hot so I know it was not just sitting and waiting. So we thought we would try the upstairs bar and again the meat in the burger was cool to the temperature compared to the sides orders. I know meat needs to rest but.... The staff did notice and offer a replacement but it was a little late as we had finished more than half. We then thought third time will be the charm and went for brunch. Even though we called to make sure they were open the front door was locked. My husband found someone skulking out the back and managed to interrupt his fag break to open the door. But it is a great place to soak in the view and that is why it gets a four! MissElainey - 21 Jul 2009 13:58 |
