No sign of any beer brewed on the premises just yet. In fact, this was one of my least favourite pubs of my visit to Salisbury and its surrounding villages. The ales choice was Exmoor Dark, Timothy Taylor Landlord and St Austell Tribute, whilst there were no real ciders. The atmosphere seemed fairly sterile. Could be better. Although they did seem to have a good range of bottled beers.

This pub is now under the management of Gary & Natalie and about to produce its own beer brewed on the premises under the name of "Sarum Shield" Brewery. Both Gary & Natalie are very friendly and serve a variety of cask ales all of those I have supped being good.
Friendly locals, entertainment and TV on occasion. Well worth a visit.

great ale pub, very impressed by the range and condition not to mention the knowledgable staff behind the bar. I tried 4 halfs of ale plus a half of a german wheat beer and bottle of american porter i cannot understand the lack of customers as i was one of two at the time of my visit. Salisbury appreciate what you hav,e use it or lose it! I would crawl over broken glass to have a non chain free house like this in my area. at £3 a pint its a steal too

Great alehouse lots of imported US craft bottles Plus Czech & German beers I saw 4 ales & one cider. Very local but friendly with a real fire, tried two local brews plus a anchor porter in bottle. Well worth the walk & a contender for any ale house I've ever been in a pleasure.

Actually very impressed I was early for a social meet so I ducked in to the halfway for a quicky, had three ales on being tom brown, hobgoblin and nelsons had a pint of toms & hobgoblin then was offered a taster of Nelsons all in good condition.
Only 2.50 a pint which blew me away all in all top notch.
