This is more a restaurant than a pub (as per the previous post). Wasn't exactly made to feel welcome, I assume this was because I wasn't eating. Anyway, tried the Doom Bar, all good. Would I visit again, probably not... wolvesfan - 13 May 2014 09:11 |
We were lost and stumbled across this place by accident but we were glad to find it. It appears more of a restaurant than a traditional pub but had two real ales on - from the FFF and Flowerpots breweries. Both were in very good condition. There is an extensive menu but also "snacks" available. As we were pushed for time we went for the latter but were very impressed by both quality and quantity. My wife had a sandwich but I had a lasagne which was many miles removed from the normal pub fare. Both meals were excellent. There were two young ladies serving, each doing a good job and clearly enjoying their work. A happy accident in finding this place but I would aim to return if back in the area. Food is good here... although I have been many times and there have been ups and downs. In general, it is good. The atmosphere is nice and there is a small but nice area outside in the back (nice in the summer). I really like this place and will mark this as a 7. It's maybe one of the better pubs in this area. nightsmoker - 7 Jun 2010 02:04 |
Nice dining room but only ONE vegetarian dish on extensive menu.! When my one and only veggie dish arrived it was luke warm and the portion small --- my appetite isn't huge but could have eaten more. Bread roll OK but butter hard as a rock--how does one spread rock hard butter? gingerbiscuits - 4 Jan 2010 07:43 |
Can't speak highly enough of this place. 2 bar girls and chef all very friendly and helpful, with quick efficient service. It's possible to book but they'll make every effort to accommodate you if you haven't. The food is out of this world, and inevitably a little expensive as a result, but it will fill you up nicely. And the place isn't pretentious: you can eat in the main bar. Selection of interesting real ales, constantly changing and with advice as to which one's coming next. Trev - 31 Jul 2009 08:16 |
