Hmm. OK but another Gastro pub by numbers. Pleasant enough but lacks any character. Beer was fine though. I note other reviewers have been "blown away" by it. Must have been a bomb on those days. Average at best. TheHorsesMouth - 28 Feb 2011 14:12 |
A fantastic boozer! As another reviewer has said, this pub came under new ownership at the beginning of the year and has been transformed. We hired the upstairs private dining room on a Friday night for a pre-xmas drink-up and meal, and it was superb - pretty much had our own waiter all evening, who permanently kept us topped up with booze all evening. And the nosh was excellent - this is a very 'foody' pub, priding itself on sourcing local produce with an ever-changing menu - they smoke their own salmon on a smokery on the upstairs terrace, for gods sake! The Doombar was off when we got there, but apart from that (and that's the only criticism i can think of!) this is as good as it gets. BatterseaBomber - 21 Dec 2010 12:19 |
Last stop on a crawl around Kensington. Great pub even if the only beer on was Doombar. No complaints in that just a shame the others, including Old Hooky were off as a bit more choice would have been good. Great atmosphere, friendly service, a really nice place to spend the evening. The food side of the place was fully booked and the dishes served up looked pretty good. If I lived near by (I wish) then this would definitely be a regular haunt, well worth a visit. phill1110 - 17 Nov 2010 22:55 |
I went to The Mall Tavern over the weekend and I have to say I was blown away, if you've ever been before you wouldn't recognize the place. The new owners are pulling out all the stops and have certainly given this place a new lease of life. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we couldn't fault it, the food and drink were of a high standard and could only be matched by the service. The atmosphere was spot on with good music, dim lighting making for a cosy feel. Somewhere where you could definitely settle in for the night... Eddie_Mango - 28 Jan 2010 14:46 |
