Been here a few times. Always friendly. Beer is a good price and tastes good. Guinness is excellent. Heard that the place was a hole beforehand but the new landlord seems to have cleaned it up well. Decent pool table, good beer, friendly staff and landlord. Locals are welcoming too and don't mind talking to new people and readily welcome them in. Only problem is parking. Carpark at back is more of a driveway and holds only 3 cars at most. Smoking shelter has been installed now though at back by the carpark. Lovely place now compared to what I've heard about it before. Telford_Bloke - 14 May 2014 10:13 |

Popped in after hearing it had reopended, and had a great couple of hours there. Real ale is spot on. Had black sheep which was cheap. Some of my pals were on the carling, again cheap at 2. Nice friendly environment, had a decent pool table. Had a good chat with the landlord who is a local, and a smashing fella, unlike some of the landlords at some of the other pubs in St georges! Will definitely be back! Jack1970 - 29 Aug 2010 00:06 |

going back on old posts .... the bush pub was on its last legs long before 2009 .... when the relief landlord took over the pub had been run into the ground by the previous landlord. the cask beer did not sell as the customers were generally lager or guiness drinkers therefore the cask didnt sell and like the landlord said he was throwing away more than he was selling as he would not sell bad beer!!! the new houses behind it .... well they may be close by but all they ever do is complain baout people smoking outside and the parking ( very small area to park on). i know someone who lives 2 doors from the pub and he has never even been in !!!! i am offended by the fact that Trenchlad says the locals are not the friendliest..90% of us who drank in the bush have been friends for years so we dont just drop everything and welcome customers in to the conversation....Barman not bothered ....well you are prob right there cos he didnt really want to work when he was there.!! rather be drinking than working for him. at the end of the day the landlord was only asked to look after the pub for a short time but ended up doing 2 yrs !!! stgeorges - 19 Jul 2010 11:26 |
