It's been over 12 years since I was last in Bridport and I'd forgotten how Palmer's dominate the pub scene. The Ropemakers Arms is situated on the town's main street and is probably one of the better Palmer's pubs. Almost the full range of their ales was on - Copper Ale, Dorset Gold, IPA & Tally Ho! The 200 was being pulled through. Their Dorset Orchards First Press was also on. The pub is fairly dark inside and there are tables in a number of different seating areas. There was a good mix of both drinkers and diners. blue_scrumpy - 12 Mar 2020 19:48 |
Lovely town centre pub, usual range of Palmers beers in good condition, had the seasonal Coastal Path. Well worth a visit. ellisref - 27 May 2017 22:19 |
I have posted before but can confirm nothing has changed here. Still a great community pub offering the entire Palmers range of ales. Bar staff are friendly and families/dogs welcome. Hugh.Jainus - 2 Feb 2017 16:39 |
Good as ever. Beers always on top form and the new kitchen means meals are served quicker. Bar staff are excellent - special mention to Pabs, Lucy, James, Lesley & Mark. Oh, and Andrea! What a real pub should be. John & Geraldine have cracked it with the Ropies! Hugh.Jainus - 8 Jan 2017 15:06 |
A great pub that never drops its standards. I use it regularly and am never disappointed. Quiz nights, meat draws, live music, pub trips, cheese samplings. The bar staff are excellent and the beer is always on top form. This is one of two pubs in town that are definitely worth a visit. Hugh.Jainus - 17 Sep 2016 10:13 |
