Pub closed. Not sure what it's been converted to. Such a shame was one of Oldham's better places to drink. Caskales - 22 May 2019 11:48 |
Pub was closed when I walked past yesterday. Front door boarded up with a security grille. RealAleRobUK - 27 Nov 2015 17:44 |
Visited on a Friday lunch time. The pub is deceptively large, with more seating available than you would expect when eyeing the place up from the outside. There was a bank of three hand pumps of which two were on. Sweet Chariot at 4.8% and Revisionist Ruby Liquorice Smoked at 3.6% - both by Marstons. I opted for the Sweet Chariot which turned out to be a somewhat uninspiring bitter. Drinkable, but not remarkable, and reminded me a bit of John Smith's. Back to the pub itself, there was a fair mix of people in, a surprising number of people with kids (do primary schools in Oldham finish early on a Friday?), three guys propping up the bar, and a noisy young crowd on the elevated seating area. There was a TV on showing daytime TV. Although not an unpleasant pub the atmosphere was a bit strange. Would be willing to try a revisit though. RealAleRobUK - 9 Mar 2015 15:53 |
Disappointing Marstons pub set between the bus station and the police station. Marstons Pedigree & Ringwood Best. I resorted to Strongbow Dark Fruits, which was on keg! It feels a little dark inside. But it is reasonably decorated. Football reporting was on the TV. Seemed to lack atmosphere. blue_scrumpy - 7 Dec 2014 22:11 |
Expected more from this place seeing as its in the good beer guide. Beer was not bad but the place could do with a clean. Only across the road from the beer fest so hopefully improved by then. Thelittleman - 27 Mar 2012 17:39 |
