Surrey Comet reports it closes tomorrow 18th November and will become a Tesco Express. TiaMariaJim - 17 Nov 2011 13:41 |
Hard to work out Wetherspoon thinking. The Grid is at long last a really vibrant community. No rowdy or rough types...just genuine convivial regulars. Strangers are made to feel welcome by the young, enthusiastic manager and staff. Food the most reliable it has ever been. A proper and well run "local".... which Wetherspoons has rewarded with impending closure! doorstep - 7 Nov 2011 11:23 |
Friendly drinkers in a routine JDW pub. Good range of beer and smiling staff. Judging by previous comments this is a massive improvement. doorstep - 13 Aug 2011 15:20 |
Oh Dear. Well the swearing, smoking, high spending riff raff have been relocated to the Garage. Very very well done for that. However, it seems the emphasis is now on making other- more sedate - regulars uncomfortable too. Taking away the bar stools is an example. Although most managers seek to encourage real ale drinkers, why is it that so often beers are "coming soon". Overall a sense of being unwelcome, loss of sociability and lack of attention to the beer range. southfields - 15 Mar 2011 16:05 |
visited 9/11/10 oh dear just as you think spoons are getting some nice bars and good staff you have the grid used to be ok with old manager new girl needs help or sack, poor staff, poor kept ales and dirty.
