I have always been pleased with this pubs food until yesterday Sunday 13th May 2012. My daughters and their boyfriends were treating me to lunch for my birthday. As one couple are vegan and there was nothing vegan (and hardly anything vegetariian) on the menu my daughter asked for 2 plates of vegetables and some vegetarian gravy. All our lunches arrived except there was just one plate of veg. When my daughter told the waitress that there should have been 2 of these plates she took it away and divided the plate of veg between 2 plates. This now looked like 2 child portions of veg and no they didn't have vegetarian gravy. When the bill arrived my daughter said "Oh they"ve made a mistake and charged for 2 plates of vegetables". But when she questioned this she was told that they had had 2 full plates of veg. These 2 plates of veg cost over 14 (over 7 each). The roast beef dinners were only 7.95 each and there were more veg on those plates along with the meat and yorkshire pudding. Although this is a nice pub in a nice location I don't think you can charge over 7 for 3 roast potatoes, a couple of pieces of carrot, cauliflower and butternut squash. Better value elsewhere locally Marje45 - 14 May 2012 11:46 |
Canal side pub with plenty of outside decking. Good selection of beers and a wide choice of food. TREFONEN - 4 Mar 2012 15:37 |
