The Joiners Arms is a village local, with a bar on the left, a lounge and dining area to the right as you enter and an intimate vaulted room behind the bar. The 2 ales are Rudgate Viking & Tetleys Bitter. The Viking was quite pleasant. Another pub where food is clearly popular. blue_scrumpy - 13 Apr 2014 18:58 |
Nice pub in a lovely village. Good atmosphere with decent food and drink. Have had quite a few family meals in here and never been dissapointed. dalesman1000 - 17 Jun 2011 16:45 |
The pub is a very nice pub and in the right hands could be the place to be. The problem is the family that own it, all they seem to want to do is talk at you about their "achievements" and low and behold if you want to talk about anything else. There is an older woman working there (the mother i think) and if she deceides she does not like you for no apparent reason you will be lucky to even get eye contact let alone some service. There is man on the bar (part of the family aswell i think) who has the personality of grated cheese and then there is "the chef" John who for a man who fries fish and chips does'nt half go on like he is gordon ramsey. and is another one who talks at you about how great he is when you really could be doing other things. This seems to be a popular if unremarkable food-led pub on the edge of Harrogate popular with a cross-section of villagers. A couple of Real Ales on offer. Gents toilets smelled a bit Cravenite - 20 Jan 2010 13:46 |
