Great community pub. Laid out as lounge with distinct areas and a separate public bar. Busy, friendly and welcoming. Serves a wide range of Sam Smith's beers. Only disappointment is OBB only on keg. Great prices. 9/10. wobblybob - 16 Jan 2018 18:51 |
I never frequented the star before its refurbishment, but it certainly looks much nicer now. For me the decor is a bit too sterile for a pub, but it might get a bit better with age. It's worth a visit just for the price of the beer. A pretty broad selection of Sam Smiths on offer and one of the cheapest pints around! fibobs - 16 Sep 2011 07:21 |
Recent refub is tasteful, with some fascinating pictures of old Rochdale. Bizarre that one of the two Gents toilets only has one stand up urinal in it . New licencees have settled in and are welcoming. As with all Sam Smiths pubs, the prices are the best going - 1.55 for a pint of hand pumped Old Brewery Bitter, which has been well kept on the recent occasions I've been in. Worth a visit. lesandy - 22 Aug 2011 13:07 |
