I agree with the previous poster in that i could stay here for a few. Visited on a Friday evening in Feb however, the pub only had about 5 people in, all over 60. Decent pint of Pedigree mind. Don't really mind about the outside toilets soco1982 - 30 Jul 2014 15:56 |
Traditional, no-frills pub that always offers a friendly welcome to locals and strangers alike. Roaring coal fire in winter, outside seating at the front for the milder months. Ales - Bass and Martson Pedigree on my latest visit - in tip-top condition, as is the Guinness. A 'must visit' when in the area. Contrary to 'blue scrumpy', I'd be happy to have a session here. wobblybob - 9 Aug 2011 19:25 |
It's great that we still have pubs like this to show previous generations in years to come. This one is a little rough around the edges. The lack of a fridge or a cash register are indications of a bygone era. The outside toilets (both ladies & gents) are also relics of the past. Two small TVs were the only real concession to the modern era. Luckily neither had sound on. Although soft music was being played. Amongst the interesting features were a Bass mirror and a parrot on a perch proclaiming 'Welcome to Polly's'. I didn't particularly like the harsh strip lighting. Three handpulls can be found at the bar. One had Pedigree and another had Bass. The third was vacant. A great pub to visit once. But I couldn't imagine a session in here. blue_scrumpy - 24 May 2010 17:46 |

Not been in Pollys for years but will do when I go back to Leicester in the winter. Agree that this pub is one of the best pints of Pedigree you will have the pleasure of tasting! A real pub!!!! thecoopers - 12 Jul 2009 20:00 |
