Stepping into this pub is like stepping in to someone's living room from the 60's! The interesting choice of beers includes the local (and superb) Mithril Ales and together with a very varied and interesting menu more than makes up the quaint decor. While we had quite a long wait for our food to arrive, it was well worth it being tasty and decently portioned (and the friendly landlady did apologise profusely for the delay). Treat yourself if you're in the area and swing by this place. fazerblue - 6 May 2012 18:40 |
Lovely pub which manages to combine excellent food with still being a pub! The ale selection is also very good and, most importantly well kept and served. Well worth a visit as is the village itself. Joe_Cundy - 12 Jun 2011 17:47 |
Pleasant village pub overlooking a large green. With Easter Sunday being a nice day, most people were sat outside the front of the pub. The bar is to the left as you enter, whilst there is a large restaurant area on the right-hand side. Copper Dragon Freddie Truman, Jarrow Rivet Catcher, Daleside Bitter & Monkey Wrench, Black Sheep Best Bitter & Mithril Flower Power were the real ales available. blue_scrumpy - 27 Apr 2011 17:39 |
Double fronted pub overlooking the village green in a prettyYorkshire commuters village. Has that rare beast, a public bar as well as a lounge also used for meals. Five Yorkshire beers on the blackboard, Skipton, Challenger and Pippin; John Smiths Magnet; Black Sheep Bitter and the regular lynchpin from Daleside. Usual uninspiring list of kegs, Fosters, John Smith, Carling, Kronenberg, Guinness and Strongbow. The cask beer is excellent. Traditionally furnished, the public is nicely part panelled with beaten copper highlights, super old dog grate open fire, all set off by white walls. Pleasant to sit in either bay window and watch the, very slow, world going by. anonymous - 13 Apr 2009 10:08 |
