| This is a newly reopened pub after a major refurbishment. A large amount of money has been spent to create band new �oldness� in this pub. It�s got a bit of an ecclesiastical feel really. As you enter there is a dining lounge to the left and another smaller one to the right. The one on the right has wood panelling all around it. The one on the left has panels on the walls depicting arches or windows. There�s a seating area at the rear with leather sofa�s and chairs. There are �old� beams over the bar, these may even be original, it�s difficult to tell. My first impression was �It looks like a hotel bar�. It�s very foodie, but there are two handpumps on the bar serving Marston�s Pedigree and Brakspears Bitter (Ho hum). Had a pint of the Brakspears, it was drinkable, but not very good.
