The Angel and Royal - now. Run by Anber Taverns. tradervic - 1 Jun 2020 08:03 |
Called for breakfast just after ten on Saturday morning. Breakfast fine and enjoyed with a nice pint of Acorn stout. The lad serving apologised twice for the wait for the food, which was no longer than 10 minutes. The only downside was that, despite all 10 handpumps having clips, several displayed the all-too-frequent "Coming Soon", and my first choice of Barnsley Bitter was simply not on despite the presence of the clip. Still, all in all a good start to the day. Stamfordian - 28 Feb 2012 10:36 |
An attractive exterior leads into a standard Wetherspoons outlet although to be fair the beer was good the staff friendly and the breakfast a bargain at 3.10. We had Saltaire and Ossett beers which were fine. The TV's were on showing football focus but with no sound. Typical mix of JDW customers but no hassle and it was all OK mcroyal - 6 Feb 2012 14:17 |
Good looking pub from outside, and matters improve even more on entering. The pub is built on two levels, with a bar on each. The place really is very pleasing to the eye, whilst the normal good choice at the bar, found in most Wetherspoons pubs was available. I had a pint from the nearby Thorne brewery which was well kept. One of the best Wetherspoons pub I have been in. Give it a try. SouthYorkshireman - 20 Dec 2011 21:50 |
Decent enough pub and set up but far too many pumps not in action. I had a steak which was up to scratch and the beer was most drinkable. The young lass behind the counter was not the worst. If only I was 20 years younger! willesden_seadog - 22 Jul 2011 15:15 |
