Bit of an odd place this , seating arrangements are a bit odd. The main room is long and thin. They had 7 ales on, including 4 from Leeds brewery; i went for midnight bell as a regular at the pub I work at said it's one of his favourite beers, which was 3.80 a pint. The first pint was sour, bottom of the barrel and was changed and the woman changed the barrel and gave me a second pint. Was a decent pint tbf, I'm not sure I'm that keen on Leeds brewery beers, nothing much to them for me, but midnight bell is probably their best beer. The other 3 were guest beers. It's a decent atmosphere in here and I would return as it's close to the station and the prices aren't too extortionate. Wezzielad - 5 Mar 2018 17:42 |
A superb choice of real ales but avoid weekend evenings if you like to enjoy supping your pints. Ultra convenient for the station and tons better than the 'spoons on the concourse. Steamer1 - 6 Apr 2015 18:57 |
I visited Leeds in January and was unimpressed by the lax barstaff. However, I eventually got a beer. It was so cool it had a chill haze and no real taste. I gave the pub another chance last night, but upon opening the door the stench of seafood was too much for me. vicpark - 16 Oct 2014 21:52 |
Very nice indeed and handily located for Leeds station. I was supposed to be detoxing on my visit to Leeds but couldn't resist a Yorkshire Gold in here. And then another etc... plymouthpirate - 4 Apr 2014 13:31 |
A nice thing to see in that it does a good job of pleasing everyone - it's close to the station, has a super selection of ales and yet is fashionable enough for it to be not too male a haunt. A great effort and a must stop on any visit to Leeds. BoehmBawerk - 31 Mar 2014 13:33 |
