| When I arrive on a nice warm Thursday lunch time it was closed, that makes it difficult to give a fair score. I cannot fault the table out the front where I had my pack lunch, except the table had a full ash tray on it. I thought the road noise would be unpleasant but it was quiet enough. Unfortunately my water bottle had leaked and my lunch was soaked, but it seems harsh to blame that on this establishment. I really did fancy a pint as well. ben23699 - 27 Sep 2015 19:53 |
| Sorry to say but this is one of the worst pubs I've ever visited. I walked in on a Saturday night at 9.45pm on my way home from working. There were kids and dogs running round the bar, dirty glasses and plates on all the tables, the few customers in there were loudly swearing like troopers in front of the kids and the landlord. A guy came in who could barely walk from drink, and the landlord happily served him. | Unusual old coaching inn in "v" of cross roads junction. Small bar area with unusually high bar, only Bass on at our visit, but supremely well-kept. Friendly landlord, has seperate eating area and back games room, food looked amd smelled good, too late to order, but very reasonably priced on menu. Has holiday cottages at rear of car=park and opposite a country pottery workshop. Wasn't sure what to expect, but a nice surprise and a return visit beckons. Gristy - 6 Apr 2011 23:55 |
