Fairly typical Joule's house (which isn't such a bad thing) Snarling_Mallard - 18 Jan 2018 17:04 |
Visited on a Saturday night, busy but plenty of seating, friendly and wide age range of customers. Beer was in excellent condition, pity the Sarah Hughes guestbeer was not on. Now a Joule's pub so beer range more limited. A bit like the Oddfellows in Nantwich, if you are on the canal both well worth seeking out. herbie47 - 9 Sep 2013 09:39 |
Joules pub tucked away up a back street. It is fairly cosy inside and offers friendly service. Beers on were Joules Blonde, Slumbering Monk, Calcutta 1757 & Pale Ale. They also had a guest beer, which was Woodlands Midnight Stout. Another decent pub in this small market town. You could probably have a decent night out here in the town centre establishments. If you can, try to get out to the Cricket Club too. They have a good selection of beers and ciders and like us, you may even catch a game. blue_scrumpy - 5 Aug 2013 19:14 |
What a fantastic pub. Walked in on the footpath from the canal (about 15 mins). Superb range of ales (seven, mostly micros) and the two we tried were in excellent condition - Joules brewery from Market Drayton and also Thornbridge. Very pleasant welcome from the locals and helpful bar staff. Good atmosphere and comfortable and cosy. Its tucked away off the high street just behind Barclays Bank - and WELL WORTH SEEKING OUT. Visited twice last week. Beers in very good condition, 3 regulars, 3-4 guests. Sampled Sharps, Backyard Brewery, Moorhouses, Woodlands and Blue Monkey. Good food, well prepared basic dishes. Would definitely visit again. Just be aware closes between 2-30 and 6pm, rather like Whitchurch. stoatface - 7 Jul 2010 18:07 |
