Just won the best pub in Cornwall...includes a hairdressing salon and library: camping site on the way! Article in the West Briton says they support all the 20+ Cornish Breweries...excellent stuff. Congrats to all caliwag - 2 Apr 2014 10:50 |
Back in Cornwall again, and called in for lunch. Beers on offer were Skinners Spriggan, Bays Devon Dumpling, Bass, Greene King Abbot and Grandma's Weapons Grade Ginger Beer. Also had a 7.5% cider. They are doing a credit crunch lunch at the moment and have a selection of 2.99 meals or 2 for 5. Available Monday -Thursday so we missed out today. Food of the board was reasonably priced and good. The beer was not in such good condition this time though.. gillhalfpint - 25 Sep 2009 17:36 |
This is a great pub, friendly with good ale and food. Went to the event they held for St Day fest and had a super time at the mini beer festival in the marquee and enjoyed the Western re-enactment going on in the garden. Call in every time we get into Cornwall. gillhalfpint - 16 Aug 2009 09:18 |
Stayed in the caravan park up the road for a week. Excellent food at fantastic value for money. Great welcome from all of the staff, landlord and locals. Went in every night for a week. Plenty ales and "weapons grade ginger beer" along with Cornish Pear and Apple Cyder from the local Cyder Farm. ppw - 2 Aug 2009 14:07 |
I'd only rate this pub as average. The young locals were all gathered together at the bar, when they weren't outside smoking. We appeared to be the only visitors. The welcome wasn't exactly unfriendly, but I still felt a little uncomfortable. Beers included Skinners Splendid Tackle, Keltec Magik, Draught Bass and Grandma's Weapons Grade Ginger Beer! blue_scrumpy - 10 Mar 2009 21:13 |
