user reviews of the Bull Inn, Totnes

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

With time to spare, I decided to try the Bull. The real ale here is Bays Devon Dumpling. There is also a Traditional Cider from Ashridge. Not really a place I'd like to dwell. But the entertainment was provided by the clientele. From talk about vibrators to a part of the bar known as the erection section to the seemingly high on cocaine German girls and the tabby cat sat on the bar, all of the people and animals here seemed a bit eccentric. Or maybe it was just the cider!

I called in to watch England v Wales in the rugby world cup, has a pool table, more a youth, lager drinking pub, lot of football is watched here. Regular disco, it is not a quiet pub in the evenings (unless its a monday night).

For ale - go elsewhere,
For sport - stay here
For lager - stay here

A large fine looking place from the outside and one big bar takes care of three sides inside.
Pint of fosters was ok in here but we felt uncomfortable and the place had a dirty feel.
Could have been better

Pretty decent pub, more aimed at locals than tourists, but none the worse for that. Enjoyed a good pint of Hobgoblin.

Good looking corner pub at the top of the Narrows. However inside it looks like it could do with a bit of TLC as it has that worn in feel . Main central bar area with a double sided bar, and a separate games room. Seemed to be very much a locals drinking venue and it was very lively for the Monday evening we visited. But this was primarily due to some live musical entertainment from a couple who I guess were also locals as most of the pub seemed to be on first name terms.
Very pleasant pint of Bays Best, but also had hobgoblin and O'Hanlons Yellowhammer from the local Devon Microbrewery.
Not a place for a posh night out , but a decent local boozer all the same.
