Found whilst walking the HOEW. Did a bit of research and found it was a hot bed of paranormal activity but I dont think Cannock Chase has a Sasquatch. Pub is an old farm house - again, modelled on "Country Dining". There were four real ales on - two from Sharps - Atlantic and you can guess. I went for a Lancaster Bomber - which was lively, prompted the bar man to head downstairs to check and ultimately bang average. Proved with my last review that you can't hyperlink (or delete) here - visit blogged at http://bit.ly/2upZyly Mappiman - 15 Jul 2017 19:41 |
I have been to this pub a few times now, initially I found it truly charming. Today I have vowed to never return. Rude rude rude. Poor service, poor food and general shocking bad manners. My order was not served corectly yet somehow I as the customer was to blame....... sorry but this is not how the hospitality industry works. Never again. Will not recommend this venue to another soul. lisabee74 - 15 Jan 2012 21:02 |
I am genuinely interested in Psdi's reviews of "fayre" in other pubs that he/she has tried. flashharry1965 - 28 Apr 2010 13:37 |
I walked to this pub from the camp site just through the chase the welcome i got from the owners was one of a freind not just a visitor the setting of this venue next to the castle ring has veiws over the countryside that you must see they have two different types of bar/lounge the bar is olde world (parts date back to 1600) with a modern dining area with comfortable leather seating the food was fantastic i have eaten in a number of pubs in my travels but this one rates as one of the best there was a choice of 4real ales and the celler man knows how to look after them with a good choice wines the menu read well and if the food mentioned in it was a good as the TAPAS to start (not found in any other pub i have visited & Steak & Ale Pie as main any other visitor will have a meal to savor in these times of doom & gloom is was nice to be welcomed with a smile and be served with fayre like i recieved Psdl - 28 Apr 2010 13:21 |
