Only Good Beer Guide 2020 Entry in the immediate area - including the larger Stow on the Wold. Its slightly off the tourist centre - but not far. Hence he reason I'd not found it before. Gorgeous Honey Stone Building. Single roomed, setup mainly for dining. The drinker has not been forgotten - high stools at the bar and a comfy looking couple of leather sofas. Three real ales on - two locALE and a Titantic that wasn't Plum Porter. I had a perfect stroud brewery Fall - a smoky bitter. Little sample jars showed the colour and all three were a dark brown chestnut. Strange not to see more variety. £4 Friendly landlord and popular for food - so book if you are thinking of eating. many were turned away. Mappiman - 25 Nov 2019 12:08 |
Enjoyed our swift visit here - welcome relief from the touristy honeypot of Bourton -on-the-water. Cosy interior, good range of beers mozzzzzz - 18 Jul 2016 11:45 |
Visited here and ate in the bar tonight. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere warm and friendly. Good value real ales on sale, including Stroud and Wye Valley. Pub's an easy to walk to the centre of Bourton in 10 minutes. Would highly recommend and will endeavour to return. francisdrake - 4 Apr 2015 01:43 |
Nice place at the quieter end of Bourton. Beers were all in tried and all good. There was Old Hooky, Wye Valley's Butty Bach and Stroud's Tom Long on handpull with Dark Star's American Pale and Burning Sky's Arise IPA on tap at the craft end of things. The nice young lady behind the bar was friendly. All in all, a good pub. Didn't get to try the food, but most of the people around me were eating and no-one seemed disappointed. Will try next time. littledrummerboy - 28 Jul 2014 14:37 |
Well I can't review. They closed at 3pm as I tried to escape the tourists a little off the beaten track. andyaston - 21 Aug 2013 14:49 |
