| A friendly pub with a good balance between the food trade ( lots of locals eat here)and wet sales. Unfortunately a boring choice of beers on offer (Exmoor Ale, 6X and Otter Bitter - all well kept) at the nose bleeding starting price of �3.40 a pint for the cheapest. This is allegedly because of the zoning - the other Polden Hills pubs charge similar prices. I could put up with that price if some of the better beers from those breweries were on offer (for example, Henrys IPA, Exmoor Fox and Otter Bright) but thats just a personal view. Just off the M5 so convenient stopping point for those travelling to/from Cornwall. Large family orientated pub. Reasonably priced food and three real ales on (Flowers IPA, Bombadier, 6X on my visit) which were reasonably well kept. Service was reasonable.
